‘Roommate’ stars Jhassy and Heindrick say they are happy with their current status
Rising online stars Jhassy Busran and Heindrick Sitjar found their place in showbiz as a well-loved onscreen pair. Their portmanteau? JhasDrick!
At the grand media conference for the loveteam’s Facebook series Roommate last February 4, Jhassy and Heindrick let us in on the real score between them. Asked about how they feel that people want them to be together in real life, Jhassy said, “Showbiz po so hindi talaga mawawala yung ganun. But ang masasabi lang namin talaga is we’re both happy kung anong meron kami.”
“We’re both enjoying each other’s company as partners po,” the teen actress added. “Kung anong mangyayari, hindi po natin masasabi pero sa ngayon, we’re both happy.”
Asked why he is not yet courting Jhassy, leading man Heindrick was quick to answer, “Regarding that, pagdating sa pag-ibig, kusang darating ‘yan. Happy kami kung anong meron ngayon. Hindi pa namin masyadong iniisip ‘yung mga ganyang bagay. Kung tamaan, tamaan.”
Jhassy interjected, “Pareho rin kaming focused sa careers namin kaya hindi namin pinaprioritize [ang love].”
Aside from chemistry, what sets JhasDrick apart from other love teams? What do they have to make it big as a pair in the local entertainment scene? Jhassy explained, “‘Yung ibang loveteams kasi malaki na ang fandoms nila. ‘Yung sa’min kasi nakikita ko talaga na very supportive sila kahit sa simpleng ginagawa namin. Meron kaming JhasDrick fans.”
Barry’s (Heindrick) ideal woman is portrayed by Jhassy as a college student named Natasha. In addition to dealing with anxiety and despair, Barry, the socially awkward youngster played by John, is also dealing with his mother’s death.
“Roommate” also stars Ernest “Beaver” Magtalas and MJ Manuel. The nine-part FB serye is available on director Gabby Ramos’s official Facebook page.
