Royal Air, a fast-growing airline in the country, sees more opportunities as it launched its hub in CEBU last May 20, 2019. With the opening of its five new routes, the airline now allows passengers to fly direct from Cebu to Manila, Davao, Puerto Princesa, Caticlan, and Cagayan De Oro.

Cebu, the newest addition to Royal Air’s strategically placed hubs, carries an important role in Royal Air’s growth.

As Department of Tourism (DOT) reported a whopping 8,099,346 million tourist arrivals in 2018, Central Visayas is expected to continue the lead in the nation’s tourism rise.

“With more aircraft coming in later in the year, we are ready to open additional routes which we will launch from our Cebu hub. Royal Air is serious in expanding our market reach across the southern region; it is one of the many ways we can make the journey pleasant for our customers.” said Ed Novillas, CEO of Royal Air Philippines.

Known for its century-old churches, historic landmarks, and beautiful white sand beaches, Cebu and its neighboring provinces are recognized by DOT as top tourist destinations in the country.

Royal Air has announced the launch of a new inflight entertainment system called Sapphire In-Flight Entertainment System. In partnership with Global JD Capital Pte Ltd, the inflight entertainment system allows travelers to pair their devices and stream digital content while in the sky. It also has other feature such as; inflight purchase of meals, inflight purchase of airline merchandise, Digital news and event and travel insurance. Advertisers also has room/slot to advertise their products. Passengers also can chat or ask for assistance using the SAPPHIRE Cube chatbox, enjoy financial services, purchase insurance while in-flight, book a hotel and tour package, enjoy duty free shopping at the comfort of your seat.

This technology is free and may be used right after the aircraft’s takeoff.
