Recently, Verzosa was showered with accolades at the 2024 Asia Leaders Awards. He received the Humanitarian of the Year award, along with two Outstanding Achievement Awards for his public service program “Dear SV” on GMA Network. “I am so grateful and overwhelmed,” Verzosa shared, “I’m just doing what I love, what makes me happy. To be given awards on the side is a bonus.”
His dedication to helping others shines through his words: “The award is just a bonus. What’s important to me are the people we are helping. We are paying it forward so those we’ve helped can uplift the lives of others in need.” This commitment to fostering a culture of generosity is evident in his various philanthropic endeavors, including his work with Frontrow Cares, the CSR arm of his company, Frontrow International.
Verzosa’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. He was also honored with the prestigious Gusi Peace Prize for his contribution to peace and human dignity. “I’m just a kid who grew up in Sampaloc, Manila,” he humbly stated in his acceptance speech. “I came from nothing and worked my way up, and now I’m one of the youngest recipients of the Gusi Peace Prize.” He hopes his journey inspires a “culture of giving, a movement of helping.”

Behind every successful man is a strong and supportive woman, and for Verzosa, that woman is actress Rhian Ramos. Ramos, despite her busy schedule, made sure to be present at the Asia Leaders Awards to support her boyfriend. “Sam has done his very best to be present for me and to be supportive of me,” Ramos explained. “He’s at the premieres of my movies, so as much as possible, I try to be around at moments like this. I am so proud of him.”
Their relationship is built on mutual support and understanding. “We try to be there for each other, whether physically, emotionally, or for our mental state,” Ramos shared. This foundation of support allows them to face challenges together, including navigating public life and dealing with critics.

Verzosa credits Ramos for being his lucky charm, but he acknowledges that her influence goes beyond just luck. “She’s really my lucky charm,” he confessed. “But not only her charm, but her brains, her heart are also what’s really helping me do what I do. She gives me peace of mind, good advice, and calms me down when I have bashers. We motivate and inspire each other.”
Ramos, for her part, is proud of Verzosa’s achievements. “I’m proud of every recognition he’s getting, and I feel that he truly deserves it,” she said. “I know that he doesn’t do it for the awards, but it’s nice when he gets recognized for his efforts and services.”
Looking Towards the Future
As Verzosa sets his sights on the Manila mayoralty seat in the 2025 midterm elections, Ramos is ready to stand by his side. When asked about the possibility of becoming the First Lady of Manila, she replied, “If that’s what God wants for my life, then I won’t refuse it.”
Their shared passion for service extends beyond their personal lives. They are both deeply concerned about the future of their country and are actively looking for ways to contribute to positive change. “We talk about the future of our country every day,” Verzosa revealed. “There are so many problems, so many conflicts. We believe that if we want change, we should start with ourselves.”
