Scents have a special ability to unlock memories. A single fragrance can transport someone back to a cherished moment, a favorite place, or a meaningful chapter in their life. It is this connection between scent and emotion that makes Jennylyn Mercado’s renewed partnership with Beautederm’s Reverie Air Fabric Freshener line even more fitting.

For Jennylyn, the collaboration is the continuation of a relationship that has been years in the making. Long before she officially joined the Beautederm roster, she was already a fan of the brand’s products.
“Pinadalhan ako ni Ate [Rei] noong 2018,” Jennylyn recalled the generosity of Beautederm Founder and President Rhea Anicoche-Tan and shared how her introduction to Reverie began.

After becoming a Beautederm ambassador for Cristaux in July 2024, the actress now takes on a renewed role as the face of the brand’s Reverie Air Fabric Freshener collection.
The trust between Jennylyn and Rhea has only grown stronger over the years. The actress described their relationship as one that extends beyond work.
“Si Ate, pamilya na sa akin. Katulad ng sabi ni ate kanina, wala pa kami ni Dennis sa Beautederm, meron na kaming communication, lalo na ngayon na ninang siya ng anak ko, at endorser na din ang asawa ko,” Jennylyn said.

She added that her loyalty to the brand is rooted in its consistency and quality.
“‘Yung trust ko naman sa Beautederm, unang una ‘yung quality, quality ng lahat ng produkto ng Beautederm maaasahan, very reliable mula noon hanggang ngayon, 17 years nang consistent ang mga produkto, hindi nagbabago.”

That confidence is evident in how she uses Reverie at home. Among the line’s six signature scents, Jennylyn revealed that three stand out above the rest.
“Meron akong tatlong favorite. ‘Yung Cloud Whisperer, Pure Serenity at ‘yung Cafe Aroma,” she shared.
According to the actress, each fragrance creates a different mood. “Kinu-kwento ko kay ate na ang bango-bango nung Cloud Whisperer, nakaka-relax siya. ‘Yung gusto mo nang mag-relax, matulog, gusto mo lang maupo at manood ng TV. Pwedeng i-spray sa sofa, pwedeng i-spray sa mga unan ninyo, comforter ninyo, sa air pwede din.”

Cafe Aroma, meanwhile, serves as her instant pick-me-up.
“‘Yung Cafe Aroma naman, gustong gusto ko kasi amoy kape, so naaamoy mo pa lang, kahit hindi ka pa nagka-kape, parang nag-kape ka na, nagising ka na agad, na-energize ka na.”
As for Pure Serenity, Jennylyn described it as a fragrance that creates a soothing and fresh atmosphere.
“‘Yung Pure Serenity, ganoon din ‘yung feeling – relaxed ka, ang bango-bango lang, parang ang linis-linis.”
The actress believes that a home’s fragrance can have a powerful effect on one’s overall well-being. For her, scent is closely tied to comfort, relaxation, and emotional connection.
“Vital kasi diba kapag mabango ang bahay parang ang linis? Parang ang linis niya, nakaka-relax,” she explained. “At kapag mabango, marami kang naaalala na emotions, marami kang naaalala na mga memories, depende sa kung anong scent na pinabango mo sa kwarto. Importante siya, nakaka-set siya ng mood, nakaka-uplift siya.”

Those memories were a recurring theme throughout the launch event. For Rhea, Reverie brings to mind her long pursuit of bringing Jennylyn into the Beautederm family.
“Memories kay Jen, kasi matagal ko na siyang nililigawan maging part ng Beautederm, as in, ang tagal na. So, kapag nag-meet talaga ang stars ninyo, nag-collide, eto na siya. Tapos eto, renewal naman namin,” Rhea shared.

For Jennylyn, one particular scent evokes memories of romance. While Cafe Aroma naturally reminds her of coffee, another fragrance takes her back to the early days of her relationship with husband Dennis Trillo.
“Well, may isa na scent na parang naaalala ko ‘yung first date namin ni Dennis, parang ganun. Ang happy lang, nakakakilig,” she said with a smile.
Asked about the details of that memorable date, Jennylyn initially kept things mysterious before revealing a little more.
“Secret. Hindi, hindi dito, out of the country. ‘Yun ‘yung unang beses na nakita kami sa iba (bansa), sa Hong Kong. ‘Yun ‘yon.”
As the partnership enters a new chapter, both Jennylyn and Rhea remain grateful for what matters most beyond business success. Ahead of Mother’s Day, the actress shared that her greatest wish is simple.
“Ako naman, wala na akong hinihiling pa kundi maging malusog, humaba pa ang buhay ko para makasama ko pa ang mga anak ko. ‘Wag kaming magkakasakit dahil napakaimportante ng health para magawa ko pa mga kailangan ko para sa sarili ko, sa trabaho ko at sa pamilya ko.”
Rhea echoed the same sentiment, saying, “Ang una kong pinagpe-pray ngayon ay good health. Kasi sabi nga nila, life begins at 40.”

With Jennylyn renewing her partnership with Beautederm Reverie, the collaboration serves as a reminder that fragrances do more than freshen a space. They can create comfort, shape emotions, and preserve the moments people never want to forget.
