During Sen. Win Gatchalian’s announcement of his endorsed candidates for the 2019 Senatorial election, the 19-year old son Emilio of re-electionist Sen. JV Ejercito proxied for his father. Sen. Gatchalian raised the younger Ejercito’s hand in front of the Valenzuela City crowd to signify his full support for the running senator.

Jose Emilio Ejercito, Sen. JV’s firstborn, delivered a speech on behalf of his father. He talked about his father’s devotion to public service and emphasized the importance of the Universal Health Care Act (authored by Sen. Ejercito).

The Universal Healthcare Act in the Philippines was signed into law by President Duterte. The act will automatically enroll Filipino citizens into the National Health Insurance Program and expand PhilHealth coverage to include free medical consultations and laboratory tests.
