Sibling Goals: Rannie and Lance Raymundo weigh in on sibling rivalry and reveal why they never fought in real life
Rannie and Lance Raymundo, the celebrated brothers of Philippine entertainment, are diving headfirst into a new project – a series advocating for the West Philippine Sea. Produced by Dr. Mike Aragon, “WPS” aims to combat misinformation and shed light on this critical issue. But what drives these two artists to take on such a project, and how are they preparing for the challenge?

Facing Fears and Finding Strength
For Rannie, preparation is a shared experience. “Araw-araw sabay namin binabasa ang script. We talk not only read it, we talk about it. Syempre abreast kami sa nangyayari. Halos nakadikit ang tenga namin sa mga bawat balita na pumapasok,” he shares, emphasizing their commitment to staying informed.
Fear, he believes, is the biggest adversary. “As for yung natatakot, alam niyo yan ang number one na kalaban natin maliban sa mga nambubully sa atin. Ang dapat natin labanan ay yung takot. Kasi ako, I can speak for myself, sa edad kong ito, ubos na yung takot ko eh. Tawag dito, yan ang pipigil sa atin,” Rannie declares, highlighting the importance of courage in the face of adversity.
Lance echoes this sentiment, viewing their artistic talents as weapons in this fight. “Other people are soldiers, armas nila is actual arms. Armas namin is our talent. So, I think the best way of giving back sa naibigay din sa atin is to use our talent.”

He acknowledges the existence of fear, but chooses to rise above it. “There will always be something to be afraid of,” Lance admits. “‘Yun lang, I’ve decided not to be afraid. Kasi alam ko naman kung sa mabuti mo ginagamit ang mga katangian mo, there will always be protection ‘di ba from above?”
Their bond as brothers is evident, with Rannie assuring Lance, “his Kuya is here.” This unwavering support speaks volumes about their relationship.
A Brotherhood Built on Support
Lance attributes their strong bond to their upbringing. “We were raised very well kaya nga napakasuwerte tala talaga. Yung mga people that follow us in social media kitang kita naman yung relationship naman ni Kuya,” he says. He has always looked up to his older brother, acknowledging Rannie’s established presence in the music industry. “Ever since I was a kid, before I started, Rannie Raymundo is already the OPM icon. It was never in my mind to try to even equal his achievements kasi para sa akin, just to be in the world where he’s at is already something na napakalaking bagay sa akin.”
Their journey has been one of mutual support and encouragement. “So, now that I’m slowly also finding my niche, ‘yung Kuya ko naman is also very happy for me. And I think we’re doing well in our respective niches sa industry. Kaya for the first time na magkasama kami dito, it’s really nice to combine yung katangian naming magkapatid. All we do is just really push each other up. There’s never really been any rivalry. I’m sure yan din naman yung masasabi ni Kuya but let’s hear from him.”
Rannie, in turn, expresses pride in his brother’s achievements. “Well, every time I see my brother going up and going up, it really tickles me. Siyempre, Kuya ako eh, bilang kuya, kapatid ako,” he shares. He also reveals a surprising fact about their relationship: “At I like to share with everyone a fact, a trivia about Raymmundo brothers. I think we are the most abnormal brothers in the world. I say that because maniwala kayo, with God as our witness, would you believe that ever since pinanganak yan hanggang ngayon never pa kami nag-away? I swear, with the heavens as our witness, not even argue. I don’t know why. Well, I do know why, kasi lahat ng puri ay binabalik sa magulang namin, naturuan kami.”
