Making waves across Asia since early 2022, oat milk brand OATSIDE is now available in select retail locations in Manila, Philippines. Benedict Lim, the founder and CEO of Oatside, recognized a gap in the market for a plant-based milk that has a creamy and malty taste profile that is familiar to those who do not typically consume plant milks. Oatside is plant-based, lactose-free, cholesterol-free, and low in saturated fats.

Oatside is one of Asia’s few “full-stack” plant milk start-ups, meaning that the company retains complete control over the entire production process, from sourcing its Australian oats to oat extraction and filling. This allows for customization in the production process of their oat milk, and the ability to ensure that only sustainably-sourced ingredients of the highest-quality are used. Oat milk production requires significantly less land and water, and produces fewer emissions than cow’s milk, making it a more sustainable option.

Oatside’s Barista Blend and Chocolate variants can be found in partner cafes such as PickUp Coffee, FRNK, and Bo’s Coffee in the Philippines. Additionally, Oatside products will be available in major retailers such as Landers and Puregold, as well as on e-commerce platforms like Lazada and Shopee starting in May. Oatside Barista Blend is creamy enough to add body to coffee and tea while still allowing the notes of the beverage to shine through, making it a popular choice among baristas. Oatside Chocolate is a dark, rich chocolate oat drink made with a Rainforest Alliance-certified Indonesian-African cocoa blend and less sugar than most chocolate milks.

Oatside recently launched in the Philippines with a milk tasting experience at Papakape, Fort Santiago, Intramuros Manila. Hosted by Sam YG and Erwan Heussaff, guests were able to sample Adobo Mousse on a Fried Oat Milk Bar and other local delicacies that feature Oatside, showcasing its versatility beyond just beverages. Both Sam YG and Erwan Heussaff expressed excitement about the brand’s arrival in the Philippines and its potential uses beyond just coffee and drinks.
