Sparkle artists Sophia, Elle, and Ysabel franchise ‘Nailandia’
It all started with a passion for self-care. Nailandia owner Noreen Divina recalled how her love for pampering by going to the salon led to a big business venture.
The businesswoman shared, “So dati pag tumatawag yung husband ko, everytime tatawag ang husband ko, ‘Asan ka?’
“Tapos sasabihin ko, ‘Andito ako sa spa.’ ‘Andiyan ka na naman?’ “Nasa spa ka weekly.” “Ano kaya kung magtayo ka na ng sarili mo?’
“So parang may light bulb na lumabas sa ulo ko, ‘Oo nga naman, ano?’
“So ayun nag-aral ako, inaral ko lahat ng services. As in I know how to do all of them. Pag pumupunta ako ng mga franchise visit, kapag madaming mga clients tapos puno, tapos may waiting, hindi ko na papaalisin, ako na gagawa!”
Noreen detailed how hands-on she is! She took formal training in nail salon and foot spa services before diving into the plan.
“May course, iba-iba, pag sa nails ibang course yan, sa spa ibang course yan, sa massage ibang course yan, sa waxing, sa eyelash iba-iba, hindi lang siya isang buong course.”
Noreen underwent training both in the Philippines and abroad.
“Dapat din pupunta ako sa California kaso yung teacher sa California siya na yung pumunta dito so suwerte naman na na-timing-an ko na pumunta yung teacher sa California dito sa Pilipinas so sa kanya ako nag-aral.”
Asked if it was one-on-one, Noreen answered, “Hindi, may klase talaga siya.”
To date, Nailandia now has branches in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. “And soon baka sa UAE or sa US,” Noreen excitedly declared.
Given Nailandia’s growth and having celebrity ambassadors, three Sparkle/Kapuso female stars and Voltes V: Legacy cast members franchised ‘Nailandia.’ The co-franchisees are Elle Villanueva (Eva Sanchez), Sophia Senoron (Ally Chan) and Ysabel Ortega, Voltes V team member Jamie Robinson.
The franchising began with being sponsored by the brand and the celebrity franchisees personally loved the services.
Noreen explained, “Kumbaga sponsored na sila ng Nailandia, sponsors ng nails nila ang Nailandia. Kumbaga pag may events punta lang sila sa Nailandia.
“Nagustuhan nila ang magandang service ng Nailandia kaya one time nag-message sa amin si Sophia, si Sophia ang tulay, e. So sabi niya interested daw silang mag-franchise ng isang branch. Silang tatlo, sosyo.”
Before 2023 ends, the Nailandia branch owned by Ysabel, Elle, and Sophia will open at Il Terrazzo in Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
Noreen is thrilled over this partnership and business collaboration with the Sparkle artists given Voltes V: Legacy’s popularity and good ratings.
She added, “Very thankful, grateful kay Lord!
“Thank You Lord talaga, wala lang akong masabi, thank You Lord talaga.”
For nine years, GMA’s Primetime Queen Marian Rivera has been endorsing Nailandia. This is a testament to the brand’s success.
Noreen also shared how the business struggled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“So nagsara kami mga one and a half years, on and off iyon.
“Di ba August nagluwag tapos by December nag-strict na naman sila.”
The husband-and-wife tandem took the opportunity to extend kindness and generosity to others.
“Hindi ko naman sinisingil ng royalty ang mga branches kapag sarado sila kasi nakakaawa din naman, ano?”
As the health protocols have eased up, clients have been flocking to Nailandia branches.
“Ay naku sobra, napakalaking tulong sa amin lalo na sa mga franchisees kasi sa kanila talaga ako naaawa before na alam mo mababait sila kasi pag walang trabaho ang staff nila, they give rice, they give ayuda kahit walang kita.
“Binibigyan nila at nakakatuwa sila actually so napakabait nilang tao, lahat, yung parang pay forward, ang babait nila siguro dahil din napagbibigyan namin sila kung ano yung dapat i-impart din nila sa employees nila.
“And ito na nagluwag na, ay naku, dagsa, dagsa ang mga customers namin. Nasabik ang mga tao sa services namin, sobra,” Noreen happily shared.
