Another exciting year unfolds as Sparkle artists gear up for the Sparkle World Tour 2025, taking the Filipino spirit to a global stage. Kapuso stars Ruru Madrid, Ai Ai delas Alas, Boobay, Pepita Curtis, and Jessica Villarubin are set to showcase their exceptional talents to Filipinos overseas, bringing not only their craft but also the warmth and joy that define the Filipino identity.
For Ruru Madrid, this marks his third time joining the tour, and his enthusiasm remains unparalleled. He shared, “Nakakatuwa kasi tayong mga Pilipino gusto natin makilala ang mga Kapuso natin sa abroad. Lahat ng tagumpay na natamasa ko dito sa ating bansa, gusto ko dalhin yun sa kanila because ang totoo niyan, ang ating mga taga suporta, ang ating mga kababayan, sila po ang nagsisilbing inspirasyon sa atin to work harder at patuloy na gawin kung ano ang ating mga layunin at hangarin sa buhay — at yun po ay para makapagbigay saya sa maraming tao, lalo na po sa mga Kapuso nating nasa ibang bansa.”
Comedy queen Ai Ai delas Alas also highlighted the emotional connection between artists and their overseas audiences. “Kasi ako fan girl din ako, kahit artista ako, fan ako. Kapag nakikita ko in person yung mga artista, kinikilig ako, natutuwa ako, naiiyak ako. I think yung mga kababayan natin kapag nakita nila kami — na iba kasi kapag personal mo nakikita, nakakasalamuha, nakakamayan, nayayakap — iba yung dating. Yun yung namimiss nila sa Pilipinas, at parang kami ang representante nila para makita, ma-touch, at mayakap sila.”
Jessica Villarubin expressed her gratitude and excitement, especially as it will be her first time performing in Canada. “I’m really grateful na isa po ako sa napili na maging part ng event na ‘to. Taas-ng-taas ang excitement ko na makita ang mga kababayan natin, hindi lang sa Manila kundi sa aking mga kapwa Cebuano — sana maraming nandoon. Very excited po akong magperform, at marami na rin po akong hinandang songs na sana makarelate ang mga tao at makapagbigay ng saya. Yun talaga ang goal namin,” she shared.
Meanwhile, Boobay returns to the tour for a second year, reflecting on the trust given to him by Sparkle. “Sobrang grateful pa din talaga sa pagkakataon na pagkatiwalaan nila ako. Ibig sabihin, naniniwala sila sa kung ano ang pwede kong ishare na talento at pagpapasaya sa ating mga minamahal na mga Kapuso na nasa ibang bansa.”
Pepita Curtis sees the world tour as the next chapter in her journey that began with local Sparkle tours. “Ang preparation talaga diyan kapag ikaw ang magpeperform — yung experience mo sa pagpeperform. I’m very thankful sa Sparkle kasi from Sparkle tour Iloilo, to Sparkle tour Ilocos, sa regional TV, at ngayon sa Sparkle Tour Canada na,” she said.
The Sparkle World Tour 2025 will take place on August 16 and 17 in Toronto, Canada, in partnership with Taste of Manila, and from August 29 to September 1 at Eau Claire Park in Calgary, in collaboration with Fiesta Filipino.
As these Kapuso stars prepare to delight overseas audiences, they carry with them not only their talents but also the heart and soul of Filipino pride, turning this tour into a heartfelt homecoming for Filipinos around the world.
