Following their stints on Your Face Sounds Familiar (YFSF) Season 4, Star Magic artists Akira Morishita and Jarlo Base took center stage at the Star Magic Spotlight Press Conference held on April 20, 2026, at the Dolphy Theatre, ABS-CBN.

The two versatile performers looked back on their journey from nerve-wracking first performances to unforgettable backstage moments, sharing how the competition shaped them as artists and created lifelong friendships.
For Akira Morishita, known as the season’s “Ace Idol,” the competition was a masterclass in staying present. Beyond the prosthetics and vocals, Morishita emphasized that genuine enjoyment is the key to a lasting performance.

Akira shared, “Andun pa ‘rin talaga yung dapat i-feel mo, dapat mag-enjoy ka,” Morishita shared. “That is what we should be doing in every performance, whether it’s on the Your Face stage or outside of it.”
Beyond the trophies and high scores, both artists agreed that the best part of the experience is the friendships that they have built between each other along the way.
“Dun ko unang nafeel na hindi ko lang pala work friends lang pala ‘to, friends ko talaga, family. Patapos na yung season eh, dun ko nafeel na ‘ah mamimiss ko talaga silang lahat’,” Jarlo said.

Looking ahead, both Star Magic artists are set to expand their creative horizons. Akira is gearing up for more projects with BGYO, while Jarlo continues to hone his singer-songwriter skills in his upcoming solo releases. Despite their individual growth, the two artists are open to working again in the future.

As Akira and Jarlo transition into their upcoming solo and group projects, they carry with them the versatility and resilience sharpened by the Your Face Sounds Familiar stage. Their growth from the shows “Iconator” and beyond serves as a testament to their evolution as two of Star Magic’s most promising talents.
