For twelve days, Ilocos Sur beat as one heart.
Under the theme “The People’s Celebration: ONE Ilocos Sur,” the Ilocos Sur Festival 2026 transformed the entire province into a living canvas of culture, faith, creativity, and community pride. From sunrise prayers to late-night concerts, every town, street, and public space became part of a shared story — one where everyone had a role.

Farmers and fisherfolk stood alongside entrepreneurs and artists. Balikbayans returned to reconnect with their roots. Young creatives, performers, and digital natives infused the celebration with fresh energy. Across generations and sectors, the message was clear — this was a festival not just for the people, but by the people.
Showcasing Local Pride and Enterprise
The celebration opened with the Ilocos Sur Trade and Food Fair, where local government units, MSMEs, and artisans turned simple booths into showcases of Ilocano ingenuity.

From the Municipality of Caoayan’s award-winning exhibit to innovative products like Double Cacao Delight and Ube Vinegar, the fair highlighted the strength of local entrepreneurship and the evolving creativity of Ilocano producers. Live craft demonstrations and the Most Innovative Product Competition further emphasized how tradition continues to evolve for modern markets.
Beyond being a fair, it was a reminder that local industries remain an important force in the province’s economic and cultural life.
Faith, Tradition, and a Grand Beginning
True to Ilocos Sur’s deeply rooted spirituality, the province came together in solemn unity through the Eucharistic Celebration and the Los Patrones Procession. Clergy, officials, and devotees gathered under one banner of faith.
Soon after, the streets burst into color during the Grand Parade. Local government units presented story-filled floats and performers in vibrant costumes, with Sinait, Sigay, and Narvacan emerging as the float competition winners.
The evening Grand Opening at Quirino Stadium in Bantay elevated the celebration even further. A drone show lit up the night sky, the Provincial Capitol glowed, and performances by Kai Montinola and Kyle Echarri energized the crowd. With a record-breaking 40,000 participants, the parade marked the largest turnout in recent years.

Honoring the Hands That Feed the Province
Agriculture took center stage during Agri Day at the Narvacan Farmers Market on February 2, where farmers and fisherfolk, the backbone of Ilocos Sur, were recognized and celebrated.
Tractor floats rolled through the area in festive style, with Narvacan topping the competition. Bantay was named AGRI-Pinaka Productive LGU, reinforcing the message that agriculture remains the province’s lifeblood.
That same spirit of connection extended beyond borders through An Evening with the Balikbayans at the CHAVIT Coliseum. Ilocanos from around the world were honored for their contributions and enduring love for their homeland, highlighted by the introduction of the Global ONE Ilocos Sur Association (GO ISA).
Where Heritage Meets Pop Culture
Ilocos Sur Festival 2026 proved that tradition and modern culture can thrive side by side.
The Esports and Cosplay Competition brought anime, gaming, and comic characters to life in cloth and mecha categories, judged by Myrtle Sarrosa and fellow enthusiasts. Meanwhile, thousands gathered for Bingo Night at Quirino Stadium, where the excitement peaked with a ₱100,000 grand blackout win that sent the crowd into cheers.
Culture took an even deeper turn at Tinnatoan: Tattoo Expo, where traditional Kalinga mambabatok, along with descendants of Apo Whang-Od, showcased tattooing as a living heritage and symbol of identity. The Best of Show competition highlighted works that blended ancestral symbolism with contemporary artistry.
Celebrating Strength, Skill, and Adventure
The festival also spotlighted excellence in various fields.
Aries Ronie Patis of Santa Cruz was crowned Mister Ilocos Sur 2026, representing a modern image of Ilocano masculinity grounded in leadership, service, and cultural pride.
Along coastal communities, Bangkarera honored maritime traditions as boats raced across the waters in multiple categories. Meanwhile, adrenaline surged during the two-day Motocross Competition in Salcedo, where riders tackled rugged terrain in events ranging from youth classes to the high-stakes Pro Open category—positioning Ilocos Sur as an emerging destination for extreme sports and adventure tourism.
Beauty, Inclusion, and Self-Expression
Inclusivity and empowerment took center stage during the Ilocos Sur Pride Queen 2026 Coronation Night, where Luivie Bitongan of Candon City led a court that celebrated authenticity and courage.
Soon after, Miss Ilocos Sur 2026 crowned Narvacan’s Nathalie Clarin, with court members advocating tourism and environmental awareness. Special awards recognized poise and performance, while the event itself generated an impressive 1.7 million views and reached over 855,000 individuals online.
Across the province, eighteen municipalities also showcased towering festival arches made of wood, craft, and symbolic design. Alilem, Burgos, and Suyo earned top honors for their striking cultural gateways.
Youth Energy and Cultural Revival
The province’s younger generation played a major role in energizing the festival.
San Juan reclaimed the championship in the Street Dance and Showdown Competition, followed by Vigan City and Candon City. Guest performers Maris Racal and Paul Salas added star appeal to the high-energy event.
Meanwhile, Gen Z-arzuela breathed new life into the traditional theatrical form. Young ensembles presented modern interpretations, with PPSK of Sta. Cruz, Kayaw Teatro, and Talento Likha emerging as top winners, and individual acting awards highlighting promising new talents.
Music, Movement, and Festival Fun
The Foam Fest: Run and Rave drew around 15,000 participants who began the day with Zumba and foam runs and ended under rave lights with DJs and a performance by Flow G—proving that fitness and celebration can go hand in hand.
Battle of the Bands turned Ilocos Sur into a live music arena, with The Puppets, Vin & Vin, and Day Ones topping their categories and showcasing the strength of the province’s homegrown music scene.
Service at the Heart of Celebration
Beyond the entertainment and spectacle, Ilocos Sur Festival 2026 stayed true to its core mission of service.
The ONE Ilocos Sur Health Caravan in Galimuyod provided medical and dental consultations, free eyeglasses, medicines, assistive devices, food packs, and other essential support to residents.
Meanwhile, the Pammadayaw: Father Jose Burgos Award honored community champions in education, health, arts, and innovation—recognizing individuals whose quiet work continues to uplift everyday lives across the province.
A Grand Finale
As the 12-day celebration came to a close, a Thanksgiving Mass gathered officials, partners, performers, and citizens in gratitude for a safe and meaningful festival.
That evening, more than 30,000 people attended ONE Ilocos Sur Night, featuring performances by Arthur Nery, Adie, Yeng Constantino, FitterKarma, and Earl Agustin.

The festival’s reach extended far beyond the province. Ilocos Sur Festival 2026 generated an impressive 46.9 million content views and reached 2.7 million people online.
The celebration ended with a spectacular fireworks display that illuminated the Ilocos sky.
Beyond the lights and performances, the festival left behind renewed pride, stronger connections, and a shared identity.
Because in Ilocos Sur, celebration is more than an event.
It is community. It is culture. It is faith.
And above all, it is one province, standing together as ONE Ilocos Sur.
