Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre celebrate their much-anticipated reunion in the comedy-drama film “Call Me Mother,” which portrays a mother’s unconditional love. This film is an official entry in the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival and will be released in cinemas starting December 25.

The official trailer for the movie garnered an impressive 20 million views within the first 24 hours on social media, with the hashtag #CallMeMotherFullTrailer trending nationwide immediately following its release on December 2.

Directed by the esteemed filmmaker Jun Robles Lana, the film explores the nuanced aspects of unwavering love, commitment, and sacrifice in motherhood, aiming to touch hearts and spread joy among families this Christmas season.

“Call Me Mother” narrates the story of two mothers, Twinkle (played by Vice Ganda) and Mara (played by Nadine Lustre). Twinkle, a former queen maker turned adoptive queer mother, provides a loving home for Angelo (Lucas Andalio), illustrating that motherhood is defined not by biology but by the choices of love and devotion.

Conversely, Mara, Angelo’s biological mother, is a former teen pageant sensation turned high-fashion model. She grapples with profound regret for the life-altering decision to abandon Angelo in pursuit of her own dreams.

Twinkle reaches out to Mara to finalize the adoption, enabling her to take Angelo with her for a job abroad. However, Mara will only consent to sign the adoption papers if Twinkle agrees to assist her in winning the nation’s biggest beauty pageant.

As Twinkle transitions from a reluctant parent to embracing motherhood, can she fulfill her promise to Mara while navigating her growing bond with Angelo?
