In a media conference last May 7, the phenomenal star and VIVA artist Vice Ganda revealed that he is continuing a tradition amid the ongoing global health crisis.

As the whole world continues to survive the pandemic, Vice Ganda adapts to the times and returns to the concert scene with GANDEMIC: VICE GANDA THE VG-TAL CONCERT this July 2021. The Unkabogable star goes digital and promises to bring his legion of fans the usual powerful concert experience.

Like his artistic and entrepreneurial pursuits, Vice Ganda‘s being creative and innovative is noteworthy. His quick wit, hilarious punchlines, and trendsetting antics are hard to match. I took the chance during the mediacon to find the answer to this question — when does Vice Ganda find himself most creative? I have always wondered how Vice sparks inspiration and triggers creativity.

Vice Ganda was quick to answer, “I am most creative when I am having fun. When I am asked to think, when I am asked to work, when I am asked to produce, nahihirapan ako. So, I just need to just have fun to be creative.”

He cited his stint as a noon time show host to better illustrate what he was trying to convey, “Parang sa Showtime (It’s Showtime), feeling ko mas nakakatawa kami, mas makulit kami ‘pag we were just having fun.”

To stress his point, Vice said, “Hindi ‘yung planado, hindi nag-wo-work sa’kin ‘yun eh. Kasi ‘yun ang training namin sa comedy bar. Dumarating naman kami doon nang bahala na kung anong mangyayari. Sobrang spontaneous. Sobrang impromptu. Ganun ‘yung training namin.” It can be recalled that Vice started out as a standup comedy performer before getting bit roles in showbiz and a major break as It’s Showtime’s resident judge in 2009.

Vice further elaborated on how his creative juices are induced, “So, kahit ‘pag nag-be-brainstorming kami, wala ‘yung ‘Ganito ‘yung topic natin, gawa tayo ng ganito,’ wala. Mag-haharutan lang kami, mag-chichikahan tapos from there, doon kami makakabuo. So, doon, I am most creative when I am happy, when I am laughing, when I am not too serious.”

Watch out for Vice Ganda’s creative output on July 17, 2021 at 9PM (Philippine streaming). Worldwide streaming begins on July 18, 2021, 11AM Manila time.
