The Unkabogable It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda was at the heart of the celebration as the show marked its 15-year milestone last Saturday (Dec. 6) with the launch of its inaugural “It’s Showtime AWAAARDs.” This lighthearted awards segment celebrated Vice and his fellow hosts’ most unforgettable on-air moments in honor of the show’s 16th anniversary.
Ryan Bang, Jackie Gonzaga, and guest host Barbie Forteza led the festivities, joined by a star-studded lineup of presenters, including Angeline Quinto, Chanda Romero, Gus Abelgas, Kyline Alcantara, Negi, Iyah Mina, Petite, Ralph De Leon, Esnyr, and Klarisse De Guzman.
Among the standout moments was the “HA? Hakdog Award,” which was humorously awarded to Anne Curtis and Jhong Hilario for their playful on-air mispronunciations. The “Sablay Supremacy Award” celebrated Vhong Navarro for his always entertaining on-camera blunders, while Jugs Jugueta took home the “Dress in Piece Award” for his bold fashion choices, including the notorious Fuji Apple outfit.
The show didn’t shy away from recognizing those jokes that didn’t quite land, awarding Kim Chiu and Ryan Bang the “Natutulog Ba, Nag-Joke Award.” Meanwhile, Ogie Alcasid and Jackie Gonzaga earned the “G na Gina Alajar Award” for always being up for any challenge.
Highlighting Vice Ganda’s undeniable presence, he received the “Glow Up Award,” while the dynamic hosting trio of Vice, Vhong, and Jhong was celebrated with the “Physical Hosting Award” for their trademark high-energy exchanges. Vhong also snagged the “Words of Wisdom Award” for his memorable tagline, “Crush is paghanga.”
The most heartfelt acknowledgment, the “Cry ‘Yan Cayabyab Award,” was presented to Vice Ganda, Ion Perez, and Ryan Bang for infusing genuine emotion into the program. Vice expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the viewers, referring to the madlang people as the show’s “safe space.”
These awards concluded a weeklong anniversary celebration featuring themed performances such as MagRAPasikat, MagPOPsikat, DANCEpasikat, ROCKpasikat, and DRAGpasikat, reaffirming the show’s ongoing dedication to diverse entertainment and community engagement.
