VIRAL: Philippines After the Typhoon Haiyan, Dancing to Pharrell Williams’ “Happy”
Despite the havoc, deaths, and tears brought by last year’s Typhoon Haiyan, the Philippines as a nation (specifically those from Tacloban, Leyte that were severely affected by the calamity) prove to still be of inspiration to the world as they strive to recover, stand strong, and continue their daily living with all smiles in their little town.
This video proves the fact that most Filipinos are talented dancers (sure, that’s a given). But what’s more evident here is that we endeavor to remain optimistic and resilient despite difficulties in life.
We couldn’t think of any other appropriate and relevant song for a dance video like this, and Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” has the perfect lyrics to accompany our fellow people from Tacloban while they dance, sing, and express the happiness & joy in their hearts.
Here are some excerpts from the song:
♫ It might seem crazy what I’m about to say. Sunshine’s here you can take a break.
♫ Here comes bad news talking this and that, yeah. Well, give me all you got, and don’t hold back, yeah.
♫ Because I’m happy. Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof…
