Like a deflated balloon ready to pump in as much oxygen as possible, I prepared myself to indulge in a feast upon entering Shangri-La Hotel Singapore’s The Line restaurant.
With dozens of scrumptious dishes to choose from, I was bobbing from one counter to another, simultaneously sampling cheeses, briyanis and makis. I spent the most time at their seafood bar where I’ve easily guzzled two platefuls of fresh shrimps, lobsters, oysters and crabs. I playfully mixed sauces together with my seafood — chilis, soya sauce, and mayos — and dipped everything together for a psychedelic taste that exploded in my mouth.
And then there was the succulent sirloin steak; I had been eyeing this from the time I first sat down. True enough, it wasn’t a let down. It was juicy and tender, it did not need anymore additional sauces at all.
Desserts were probably The Line’s ‘star of the night’ as they were varied to suit everyone’s discerning palette: Green tea-flavored ice creams for those who are seeking for some matcha (almost bitter) flavor after a full meal; Caramel-filled macarons for a more Parisian dining ending; and lava cakes for that sweet bursting creamy, chocolate goodness; and so much more.
