JuanHand ambassador Arci Muñoz weighs in on her idea of luxury and the best financial advice from her mom
Asked what the best financial advice ever given to her is, actress and brand ambassador Arci Muñoz gave her answers while giggling. “Actually, hindi ko pa siya napa-practice pero ‘yung best advice, of course, is to save. It came from my mom. Before kasi I’m always parang happy-go-lucky. I do what I want, whatever makes me happy as long as I don’t bother anyone. Right now, I’m in a position in my life na I think I should make wiser decisions especially when it comes to financial decisions. When I was younger, hawak ko ‘yung pera ko. My mom, she just advises me, pero hindi siya nakikialam. Pero ngayon, I tell my mom, I think you need to make pakialam.”

At her age, Arci confessed that she still feels the need for her mom’s guidance and wisdom on financial management. “I’m 35 right now and I think kailangan ko talaga na i-set ‘yung priorities ko in life. Kasi before, sabi ni Mama, ‘Sige enjoy your money, pinaghirapan mo ‘yan, kung anuman ang gusto mo. Pero Mona, save. When you get your TF [talent fee], every month, you save.'”
Following her mom’s advice, Arci said she keeps a separate bank account where she has a self-imposed rule of not touching the money in it. She recalled her mom telling her, “Right now, think of your priorities na kasi you’re older. You can still enjoy your money kung saan mo siya gagastusin [but still save].” Arci added, “My mom has been helping me with my finances. So, ‘yun, I just really set aside [an amount] every time I get my salary, I set aside almost half. And then half, for travel.” She admitted that her idea of luxury is traveling.
“I’m not really materialistic or ma-luxury. Instead of buying a new bag, I spend it on traveling,” Arci volunteered. “Sobra akong mag-budget when I travel. If I can go economy, I’ll fly economy. Hindi ako masyado mashopping. Traveling gives me knowledge and excitement.” She believes that her immersive learning from the countries she visits has more weight that material things she can buy.
This kind of financial responsibility and maturity make Arci fit for her newest endorsement. She was warmly welcomed by what is tagged as the Philippines’ leading online cash lending platform, JuanHand, as the brand’s newest ambassador. The actress, as told by the brand, embodies the values many Filipinos hold dear: humility, helpfulness, tech savviness, financial responsibility, ambition, and hard work.
Arci, a business owner herself, understands the financial struggles that many face. She believes in having business partners who “share similar perspectives.” This belief has inspired her investments in a restaurant and a skincare brand, allowing her to not only grow her savings but also extend financial help to loved ones in need.
“It’s such a great sense of fulfillment for me to be able to pay it forward. When I needed financial help in the past, I was blessed to have family and friends who were there for me. Now, masaya ako na merong JuanHand app na available to those who need it most. Talagang Sagot Ka ni JuanHand,” Arci shared during the contract signing.
