Japanese furniture powerhouse Nitori made its highly anticipated debut in the Philippines on April 18, 2024. Located on the third floor of Mitsukoshi mall in Taguig, this marks the 1,002nd store in the company’s global network. This grand opening is part of its expansive growth strategy for the Asian market.

Nitori: Affordable Quality and Wide Variety

Established in Japan in 1967, Nitori takes pride in being the country’s top furniture and home furnishing retail chain. Its mission is clear: “To enrich the homes of people all over the world.” To achieve this, Nitori emphasizes affordability paired with innovative design. Their business model encompasses everything from product planning and manufacturing to sales, ensuring “the unexpected” in terms of value.

“95% of our products are made by our factories which allows us to lower our prices. For the Philippines, we managed to lower it even further than our prices in Japan,” says a representative of the brand.

Ambitious Growth Plans for Asia

Nitori’s recent expansion into the Philippines comes on the heels of store openings in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Korea, and Vietnam. The Philippine market’s size and promising growth potential make it a significant step in their plans to open 50 stores here by 2032.

“We are going to accelerate the expansion of our business within the Asian region…We will further accelerate the pace of our store openings, aiming for 200 each year,” stated Akio Nitori, Representative Director & Chairperson (CEO) of Nitori Holdings Co., Ltd.
