Vice Ganda, the comedian known for his side-splitting jokes and flamboyant outfits, is embracing a new kind of punchline – aging gracefully through self-love. Recently celebrating his 48th birthday, Vice isn’t shying away from aging gracefully, but he is taking steps to do so on his terms.

Enter Luxe Skin’s Lanna, an oral sunscreen Vice Ganda has incorporated into his routine. “It’s not just about protecting or beautifying the outside,” Vice explains, “It takes care of you from the inside out. I’m at a point in my life where I want someone to take care of me, not just on the outside. I want something that has an effect on my inner beauty. That’s what Lanna does.”

Vice’s advocacy for self-love and confidence extends beyond skincare products. He emphasizes the importance of self-love, “That’s part of taking care of yourself. If you’re going to love other people, if you’re going to love somebody else, why can’t you love yourself? In whatever capacity, you need to take care of yourself.”

Genuine connections are another source of beauty for Vice. “I feel most beautiful when I’m around and with people that love me,” he says. Family, his partner Ion Perez, and close friends all contribute to his sense of well-being.

For those seeking a confidence boost, Vice offers straightforward advice: “To people who want to be more confident, it’s easy. Just know yourself, accept yourself, and love yourself. You cannot expect everyone to understand, accept, and love you but the last person na hindi dapat tumalikod sa iyo is yourself. Love yourself. Take care of yourself. And be proud of yourself. Your self is a gift kaya dapat alagaan mo siya at yakapin mo siya.”

Vice recognizes the power of his platform and uses it to inspire others. “I have a following sa social media and television. That’s power,” he acknowledges. But how to wield that power for good? “Aside from making people laugh, aside from giving them fun and good vibes, masarap din na paminsan-minsan na mayroon kang learning or bagong bagay na nai-introduce sa kanila,” he says. Focusing on the younger generation, he adds, “Marami akong Gen Z and young ones na followers. Dapat nating protektahan ang mga susunod sa atin. Kailangan natin silang turuan kung paano alagaan ang mga sarili nila.”

Vice Ganda is more than just a comedian. He’s a role model for self-acceptance, inner and outer beauty, and using one’s influence to inspire positive change. As Vice himself says in the vernacular, “Your self is a gift. Embrace it.”
