Ina Raymundo and Will Ashley give life to a May-December love story in Adolf Alix Jr.’s ‘X and Y’
Actress Ina Raymundo (48) and rising star Will Ashley (21) confessed to experiencing a touch of nerves during the intimate scenes required for their new film, “X and Y”. Despite this, both actors emphasize their ability to channel that energy into a powerful and believable on-screen connection within the poignant romantic drama directed by Adolf Alix, Jr.
The story of “X and Y” centers on Ysha (Raymundo), a 46-year-old woman embarking on a transformative journey. She encounters Xander (Ashley), a young man shouldering significant family responsibilities. Their paths intertwine through an unusual arrangement where Ysha offers financial compensation for Xander to join her expedition, resulting in an unexpected and deepening bond.
Ina Raymundo describes Ysha as a complex and driven woman who bypassed motherhood in her pursuit of a successful career. Despite her past choices, Ysha seeks redemption and growth, a desire audiences can easily resonate with.
Questions during the press conference naturally gravitated towards the film’s kissing scenes. Raymundo, with a smile, praised Ashley’s professionalism and skill, especially for a newcomer. She found his approach confident, with perhaps a slight physical tension but an assurance that made the scenes flow naturally.
Addressing playful questions about Ashley’s enjoyment, Raymundo quipped that he might have more fondly remembered a shared meal rather than the kiss itself. However, she clarified that the kiss was ultimately well-executed and not distractingly awkward.
Raymundo stresses that the focus during filming remains squarely on professionalism. She expressed relief that Ashley’s nerves didn’t hinder his performance, as multiple takes can become tedious for everyone involved.

Tagasa believes the film reminds viewers of their own choices in the face of hardship—to rise above or be held back.
