Lipa City witnessed the magic of Piolo Pascual as fans flocked to the city to see Papa P. The scorching heat was no deterrent for the residents of Lipa City, Batangas, as they eagerly awaited the motorcade featuring Piolo Pascual and Janella Salvador promoting their upcoming film, “Mallari The Movie.” The movie, produced by Mentorque Productions in cooperation with Cleverminds, Inc, is set to be an entry in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2023.

Arriving at Hotel 1925 around noon, Piolo Pascual and Janella Salvador wasted no time, taking a brief rest and meal before diving into the motorcade at 2:30 PM. The proximity to the hotel saw a multitude of enthusiastic locals waving and capturing moments of the Mallari film’s lead stars.

Accompanying Piolo and Janella on the float were Mentorque producer John Bryan Diamante and Supervising producer Omar Sortijas, both visibly delighted by the warm reception from the Batangueños.

The motorcade, meticulously organized, managed to avoid causing traffic disruptions on the streets it passed through. Instead, cars willingly gave way, with passengers capturing videos and photos of Piolo and Janella on their smartphones.

Everywhere they went, the name “Piolo” and “Mallari” echoed through the air, accompanied by eager shouts and repeated photo sessions with the actor. Piolo maintained a beaming smile, waving happily, seemingly unaffected by the sun’s intense rays, as if Lipa City’s climate were perpetually spring-like.

Following the motorcade, the stars proceeded to SM City Lipa for a mall show. Even before the mall opened, there was a long queue of people outside, a testament to the anticipation surrounding the event. Fans, representing various groups such as Solo Janella, JoshNella Official Rizal Chapter, and JaneNella Trendsetter, traveled all the way to Lipa City to support their idol.

The avid fans took even the stars by surprise, especially Janella, who couldn’t help but express her amazement at the continuous cheers during her performance.

When Piolo’s name was called, the cheers reached deafening levels throughout the activity center of SM Lipa, extending to the farthest corners. A drone camera was even deployed to capture the sheer number of people eagerly awaiting the Mallari stars, broadcasting it live for everyone to witness.

One recurring chant, heard amidst the patient audience enduring a four-hour wait, was “I love You Piolo!” It brought a sense of amusement, reminiscent of the first time this phrase gained popularity in a soft drink TV commercial featuring Toni Gonzaga-Soriano, back when she was not yet a household name.

Both Piolo and Janella proved to be incredibly accommodating, graciously posing for photos with everyone. Unfortunately, their journey through the crowd was cut short by a bustling kiosk selling a well-known coconut juice brand.

The Lipa City audience also appreciated the presence of other Mallari guests, including Ron Angeles, who even took off his jacket to showcase his physique, along with Angelie Sanoy, Audrey Alquiroz, Tommy Alejandrino, and the energetic host Inah Evans.

During the mall show, when the cast asked the audience what they would watch first when the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 kicks off on December 25, the resounding answer was “Mallari.”

Directed by Derick Cabrido and written by Enrico C. Santos, “Mallari The Movie” promises to be a highlight at the Parade of the Stars on December 16, starting in Kalookan, passing through Malabon and Navotas, and concluding at People’s Park in Valenzuela City. This event is presented by the Metro Manila Development Authority, in charge of MMFF 2023.

The Mallari team extends its heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Joy Castillo Jr HD (Urban) of Team Talino at Puso for her invaluable assistance in organizing the motorcade and mall show. The anticipation for “Mallari The Movie” continues to build, promising a spectacular showing in the upcoming film festival.
