The search is underway for extraordinary individuals whose unwavering commitment to serving others echoes the compassion of Saint Teresa of Calcutta. The AY Foundation and JCI Manila, Asia’s oldest leadership development organization, have renewed their partnership to present the prestigious Saint Teresa of Calcutta Award, with the contract signing held on April 2nd at the RCBC Plaza in Makati.

“We seek those who embody a profound spirit of selflessness,” emphasizes Helen Y. Dee, AY Foundation Chairman. “These are individuals who consistently uplift the lives of the marginalized, becoming beacons of hope in a world often preoccupied with self-interest. They are true examples of the best of humanity.”

Charles Matthew Gosingtian, President of JCI Manila, adds, “Our mission is to celebrate the remarkable individuals who embody Saint Teresa’s legacy. We honor those whose actions demonstrate not just empathy, but a relentless drive to improve the lives of the less fortunate. These awardees inspire us all, proving that even the smallest gestures of compassion can ripple into profound change.”

For over four decades, the AY Foundation and JCI Manila have collaborated to recognize these unsung heroes, whose exceptional service and dedication shine a light on the needs of their communities.

This year’s search takes on a broader scope, aiming to reach and involve more people nationwide. “We’re elevating our search with awareness campaigns across partner universities, seeking to uncover those who quietly work to improve the lives of others,” explains STCA project chairman Vjohn Dizon.

Kapamilya star Enzo Pineda, an STCA project committee member and ambassador, expresses his enthusiasm, “In a time marked by lingering pandemic challenges and the hardships of inflation, we seek those selfless individuals who persisted in helping others. This award honors true passion – the relentless pursuit of an advocacy, even amidst adversity.”
