Embrace Organization for Differently Abled, a non-profit organization championing the potential of persons with disabilities (PWDs), proudly celebrated its 7th anniversary with a vibrant three-day event.  The festivities, held at the EVM Convention Center in Quezon City from March 18-20, 2024,  showcased a range of activities designed to promote inclusivity, opportunity, and celebration.

The event kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Embrace Chairperson True Santos-Matias, NET25 President Caesar Vallejos, and beloved NET25 artists Ali Sotto, Tonipet Gaba, Love Anover, and Rey Langit.

Celebrating PWDs Through Film, Opportunity, and Art

With the theme “A Different Cinema: Celebrating Persons with Disability through Films,” the event highlighted diverse representations of PWDs through film screenings. A lively bazaar supported PWD-owned businesses, while an art exhibit, organized through the NEU Special Education Program,  celebrated the creative talents of PWD artists. Sign Language Awareness sessions, conducted by the Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD), promoted communication and understanding.

Support and Empowerment for PWDs

Embrace’s commitment to empowerment shone through with workshops on disability sensitivity, rights, and privileges of PWDs. The Quezon City PDAO Services offered satellite assistance for PWD applications and renewals. Additionally, a dedicated job fair aimed to connect PWDs with meaningful employment opportunities.

Collaboration for a More Inclusive Future

The event welcomed several non-government organizations, fostering a spirit of collaboration and amplifying the voices of those dedicated to supporting PWDs.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo’s Impact

This celebration underscored the transformative work of the Iglesia Ni Cristo through Embrace in opening doors for PWDs.  The event emphasized inclusion, granting opportunities, and championing PWDs as integral members of a progressive society. It stands as a testament to the ongoing commitment to uplift and empower PWD communities.
