Arion Crosby, rising karting star, is gearing up for an international debut this April. The fourteen-year-old son of a renowned bodybuilding champion has joined the prestigious Resultado Racing Team, marking a major milestone in his young career.

Crosby, a student at Brent International School, discovered his passion for karting at the tender age of five. His path to success accelerated rapidly, culminating in his recent triumph as the 2023 International Karter of the Year at the 21st Annual Golden Wheel Awards.

“It’s a big achievement. It’s something I’ve been really working hard for, to take this trophy home,” Arion declared upon receiving the coveted award. “This is a dream come true. Karting is something I’ve poured my heart and soul into.” His dedication will be put to the test this month as he races alongside the Resultado team in Pattaya, Thailand.

Crosby’s journey is guided by the legendary karting coach Milo Rivera, a five-time Driver of the Year and Manila Standard’s motoring editor. Rivera’s expertise promises to elevate Arion’s performance on the world stage.

It was during the Macau Asia Karting Festival last July that Arion’s talents truly shone. There, he stunned the competition with an electrifying lap time of 51.716 seconds – a feat that caught the eye of Resultado founder Theo Zaragoza.

“Arion is a force to be reckoned with,” Zaragoza asserted. “His victory in the upcoming races isn’t just a possibility, it’s highly probable. He possesses a remarkable combination of focus and discipline.”

Crosby’s mother, Gemmalyn Bonghanoy-Crosby, is an inspiration in her own right. A decade ago, she was a decorated bodybuilder in the US, instilling a drive for athletic excellence in her son.

Crosby’s recent back-to-back victories at the Rotax Max Challenge Philippine Series further validate his reputation as a karting prodigy. This April, the world will witness his rise to international stardom.

With this rise, Crosby’s good looks are also hard to miss. He’s a dead-ringer for celebrities Richard Gomez, Matteo Guidicelli, and Gab Valenciano. When asked if the young athlete’s interested in joining showbiz, his coach Zaragoza jokingly quipped, “Why not?” Crosby answered with a shy smile, “I’ve considered it.”

With a promising future, one of the things Crosby’s also looking forward to is regular driving as a civilian. Under the law, he’s still too young to get his official driver’s license. “I’m really looking forward to driving outside,” he smilingly shared.
