Winwyn Marquez, 29, officially confirms her pregnancy during the grand press conference of Nelia, the beauty queen’s first-ever titular role and entry to the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival.
The blooming Kapuso actress revealed during the question-and-answer portion of the event, “Yes, I’m actually expecting – I am pregnant… I am actually on my second trimester, medyo sa dulo-dulo na… Medyo kabado kasi hindi rin ako lumalabas masyado so that’s the news…”
Shyly, she added, “Syempre gusto ko muna siyang itago hanggang hindi pa sure ang lahat. I wanted to keep it for me and for my family to enjoy muna pero syempre hindi ko rin naman in-expect that lalabas ang Nelia sa MMFF. And I took it as a sign nalang din na i-share kasi ang hirap din namang itago kasi kailangan ko rin namang tulungan ‘yung film to promote kahit online. Gusto ko rin talagang makapunta sa presscon and be with everyone di ba kahit medyo nag-aadjust pa yung body ko with everything.”
She was also well-aware that she couldn’t hide her journey from her fans and the media.”So blessing after blessing and happy ako na finally nasabi ko na sainyo kasi ang hirap i-dodge nung question kapag tinatanong ako, hindi ko alam kung anong gagawin ko kasi ang hirap mag-lie pero it’s not a secret anymore.”

In her YouTube video posted December 18, same day of the grand presscon, the celebrity-beauty queen narrated her pregnancy journey.
Part of her caption shared how her body is still adjusting to her being pregnant. “I am taking it day by day… Yes, there are still episodes of bad nausea, dizziness, and that I get tired easily but I always try to listen to my body (as my doctors have been telling me) – to avoid stress and make sure that I am in a safe environment and not push anything out of my limit.
“I want you all to know that I am super happy for this blessing at this special time in my life, I am still getting used to the changes in my body but I am excited that in a few months we will meet our little baby.”
Her vlog also featured the reaction of her mommy Alma Moreno and daddy Joey Marquez upon hearing the good news. Watch the full video below:
Are we hearing any wedding bells anytime soon?
Laughing, she said, “Wala pa… I’m happy, kuntento naman ako with my relationship now.”
According to Win, they prefer to keep her partner’s identity away from the limelight as “He’s just a private person kaya hindi ako makapag-share anything about him also.”
“Tsaka gusto ko rin na, syempre may part naman na amin lang. Happy ako, happy kami na we’re blessed with something I really prayed for.”
She ended, “Dalawang Christmas gift na I couldn’t ask for more talaga – Nelia, the first title role ko and then now, title role of being a mother.”
Aside from Winwyn Marquez, Nelia’s powercast includes veterans Raymond Bagatsing and Mon Confiado, Ali Forbes, Shido Roxas, and newbie Juan Carlos Galano.
Nelia, one of the eight movies in MMFF, will be available in select theaters nationwide starting December 25.
