“Ang pagpasok sa negosyo, hindi ‘yan on the spot, panalo ka. Hindi ‘yan on the spot, puwede kang kumita agad,” CEO and TikTok sensation Anna Magkawas shared during the Negosyo Goals Season 2 press conference. “Nandiyan ‘yung kailangan mo talagang mag-invest ng time, effort, and of course, puhunan. Napakahalagang parte ‘yan.” Her words of wisdom are rooted in personal experience of building a brand from scratch and going through so many struggles before raking in sales. Kailangan willing ka rin to accept criticism, ‘yung puwedeng naging hindi maganda sa takbo ng business mo or sa product mo. And, talagang sipag, tiyaga, at diskarte! Napakahalaga nun.”

Magkawas added that getting into business must come from a place of love — the heart. “Kailangan nating i-analyze ‘yung business. Kailangan nasa puso natin ‘yung business na itatayo natin. Talagang i-embrace natin sa buhay natin. Kung kaya nga, tayo mismo dapat alam natin kung paano ‘yung mismong serbisyo.” She went on to say that it is important to know the details of the business and even the simplest tasks that make it work. “‘Yung kahit na absent ang mga staff or employees natin, tatakbo pa rin ang business.”

Given the tight competition, especially with her beauty and wellness line, Magkawas shared her secret on staying in the game. “Ako kasi, I don’t treat them as a competitor. Noong itinayo ko ang Luxe Skin, meron na akong sariling target market in mind. Meron akong target audience. Ako na ang nag-build kung sino ang target customers ko. Doon ako nag-focus. Hindi ako sumilip sa ibang brands. Mas nag-focus ako sa sariling products at kung sino ang mga dapat itap to promote the business.”

“Sa Pilipinas pa lang, napakarami nang tao. Ilang milyon ang puwedeng bumili ng produkto at hindi naman kailangan na dapat makipagsabayan talaga,” Magkawas confidently explained. “For as long as you know na ‘yung product mo ay maganda, mag-sstand out ‘yan ng kanya. ‘Yung product mismo ang magsasalita tungkol dyan.”
