Impressive was the performance showcased by the talented teen actress Jhassy Busran in the film “Unspoken Letters,” as revealed in the teaser of their upcoming movie.
In the film, Jhassy takes on the role of Felipa, the youngest in their family with a medical condition known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The teaser exhibits Jhassy’s exceptional acting skills, with numerous scenes highlighting her talent. One particularly noteworthy moment involves a confrontation with Gladys Reyes, where Jhassy is slapped and confronted head-on.
Jhassy demonstrates her capability to hold her own alongside a seasoned and skilled actress like Gladys. Speaking about the film, Jhassy emphasized its family-oriented nature and the valuable lessons it imparts to moviegoers.
She stated in the vernacular, “We say that it is a family-oriented drama movie, so that’s one of its advantages for the audience. It’s not just Felipa’s story; it’s the story of the whole family.”
“If I were the audience, I would want to watch it because it’s not just a story; it carries meaning. You learn something about handling a special child, and you learn about your family, how to get along with your family… What if you have conflicts with your family? That’s what the movie talks about. That’s one of the reasons why they should watch ‘Unspoken Letters,'” Jhassy explained.
The role proved to be extremely challenging for her, and she shared insights into how she prepared for it. Jhassy mentioned, “Of course, we do our own research because the directors say, ‘You have to do your own research on how to portray it better. How to portray it without offending, especially those in the community.'”
Apart from Jhassy and Gladys, the film features a cast including Tonton Gutierrez, Glydel Mercado, Matet de Leon, Simon Ibarra, Orlando Sol, Daria Ramirez, Deborah Sun, MJ Manuel, and many others.
“Unspoken Letters,” produced by Utmost Creatives Motion Pictures and directed and written by Gat Alaman, is set to hit theaters on December 13, creating anticipation among viewers.
In addition to “Unspoken Letters,” Jhassy has previously appeared in “Genius Teens – Chapter 1 and 2,” “Caught In The Act,” and the film “Home I Found In You.”
Jhassy’s outstanding performance in the short film “Pugon” earned her the Jury Award for Best of the Best Performance by an actress at the Manhattan Film Festival New York 2021. She was also recognized as the Best Child Actress at the Gully International Film Festival 2021 in India and received accolades at the Ashoka International Film Festival 2021. Recently, she was honored as the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Movie at the World Class Excellence Japan Awards (WCEJA).
Jhassy was also nominated as New Actress for Movie at the 38th PMPC Star Awards for Movies. She received further recognition at the America Excellence Awards Hollywood 2023 as a Multi-Awarded New Female Movie Actress.
