2020 is undeniably a challenging year for most of us. But if there is a blessing a trial brings, it is the emergence of kind and generous hearts who are willing extend help to others. That is exactly what the Amazing Hope Christian Church International showed us when they began their efforts early this year for the victims of the Taal volcano eruption. The worldwide spread of the COVID-19 virus and the damages caused by typhoon Ulysses gave rise to the number of those in need of help. With this, the church gathered its resources and joined the digital bandwagon for a fundraiser.

Of course, may immediate response tayo. So, we came up with three things na dapat gawin. ABC lang naman ‘yun, madaling tandaan,” Chief Executive Overseer of Amazing Hope Christian Church International Dr. Julius Czar Daoa said during the intimate bloggers’ conference for AHON. His ABC guide meant Alleviate, Build, and Connect.

“Once matulungan mo ang isang tao, may kakayahan din ‘yan tumulong. Kasi nanggaling siya doon,” Pastor Julius explained how they are working on the goal of alleviating the suffering of others, building lives by educating people to stand on their own, and connecting with other people who share the same passion to help.

“First time ever po namin siya gagawin sa church. Why not bago matapos itong taon na ito, let’s inspire people through songs and then at the same time, bigyan natin sila ng inspiration and hope na after all ng nangyari, meron pang pag-asa,” National Music Director of Amazing Hope Christian Church International Joy Dano shared how she and her sister were inspired by the numerous virtual concerts and events that took place during quarantine. As the situation seemed hopeless, they both wished to be a channel of hope and inspiration for others. “We want to show others na we’re looking forward to a brighter future pa ahead of us. Siyempre po the songs will really inspire people and music will gather people. Nakita po namin na magandang opportunity ito to gather people and at the same time, naging fundraising na.”

‘Yung naging lineup po ng artists, sa tulong po ‘yun talaga ni Ate Lalou. Siyempre mas papatok nga naman kung may artists tayo,” Joy acknowledged the contribution of Operations Manager for Internal Affairs Lalou Reyes-Gabriel. “Simpleng plano lang po siya na naging ganito kalaki.

In an interesting development, the digital concert got the OPM icon and music legend Ogie Alcasid in the lineup. He’s joined by the Crystal Voice of Asia Sheryn Regis and Star Music artist and TikTok Philippines sensation JMKO (formerly known as Miko Manguba), and Amazing Hope Christian Church International music ministry. Viewers are in for an evening of praise and worship, and awesome musical experience.

100% of the proceeds will benefit the families affected by COVID-19 and typhoon Ulysses.
