Sylvia Sanchez promises Maine Mendoza: ‘I will take care and love you as my own daughter’
She said YES. Social media timelines were flooded with good vibes and well wishes last night as Quezon City District 1 Rep. Arjo Atayde and phenomenal star Maine Mendoza made their engagement Instagram official. Fans, friends, and family expressed excitement and support for the celebrity couple who met each other while filming the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Jack Em Popoy in 2018.
After almost four years of keeping a low-key relationship in showbiz, the newly elected congressman finally popped the question. Based on photos shared by Arjo’s and Maine’s siblings, the proposal happened in a private venue with the presence of their immediate family members.
As it has always been said, marriage entails not only spending the rest of your life with one person but also making things work with the other person’s family. It looks like Maine will find this one easy as the Ataydes warmly welcome her into the family.
Aside from Arjo’s sister Ria Atayde being a part of setting up the proposal as seen on Instagram posts, his mom award-winning actress Sylvia Sanchez also went public with a heartwarming message for her soon-to-be daughter-in-law. In her caption in a Facebook post and Instagram story with a photo kissing Maine on the forehead, Sylvia told Arjo’s fiancée, “Finally!! Welcome to the family, Maine Thank you for loving my son. Love you Nak I promise that I will take care and love you as my own daughter.“
