Voltes V Legacy’s cast members Steve Armstrong (Miguel Tan Felix), Jamie Robinson (Ysabel Ortega), and Commander Robinson (Gabby Eigenmann), proudly represented Filipino talent as they took part in Comic Con 2023 in San Diego from July 20 to July 23, 2034, at SDCC. Accompanying them were the director, Mike Reyes, and the executives from GMA Network.

Miguel enthusiastically shared that their participation in Comic Con was a tremendous success, and he excitedly recounted his personal experiences during their trip to San Diego. “Sobrang lagi naming sinasabi na definitely one for the books yung experience namin sa San Diego Comic Con dahil unang-una first time naming nirepresent ang Philippines sa SDCC. First time yun sa buong history ng San Diego Comic Con na may nagpuntang taga-Pilipinas or Southeast Asia so sobrang excited kami about that. Mas nakilala ko lalo yung mga katrabaho ko sa Voltes V Legacy kasi mas madami kaming naging bonding dun.” said Miguel.

He also shared that he almost missed the chance to join the Comic Con because of the visa processing delays, but fortunately, things eventually worked out in his favor. Miguel felt pressured at first because he felt a lot of pressure as he was representing Filipino pride, and he wasn’t certain if anyone would attend the panel event. “Very anxious kami na sana may pumunta, naprepressure din kami dahil what if magfail yung event na yun..Fast forward to the panel interview sobrang napuno yung dalawang ballroom tapos sa labas mahaba din yung pila.”

Their preparation was quite challenging to get ready for the occasion, especially when it came to the costumes since, although back in the Philippines, they had individuals assisting them in putting on their costumes, in the US, Miguel and Ysabel were the ones assisting each other in wearing their respective costumes.

The team was surprised by the outpouring of support from the audience of fans at their panel interview. There were a lot of people who held up poster signs of them. “Sobrang nasurprise kami sa moment na yun. Everybody was emotional si direk lumuha, ako, kuya Gab, si Ysabel. Kasi hindi namin inexpect na ganun ka-successful yung event, ramdam mo talaga na we made it.” Miguel said.

Miguel also enjoyed his free day by going where the show Top Gun was shot and he went sightseeing with Ysabel to Sunset Cliffs, where they happened to witness a proposal. They both enjoyed the trip because of their generous bosses, who did not neglect them, especially in taking them to great restaurants with good food. They are also looking forward to visiting San Diego in the future again but along with the whole cast of the show.
