We’re in for a sweet treat at the end of this month! The much-awaited Star Cinema film Suddenly It’s Magic starring Erich Gonzales and Thai superstar Mario Maurer is finally set to be shown in cinemas nationwide starring October 31. Based on the full trailer, the film seems to be visually promising. Not only will viewers be feasting on eye candies Mario and Erich but we also spotted beautiful travel shots taken in Ilocos in the Philippines and some in Bangkok, Thailand. The viewers should also watch out for the sights of yummy-looking cupcakes and pastries by Erich’s cupcake-girl character. It does look like this film has the perfect recipe for success! We do hope our neighboring friends from Thailand and other Asian countries will get to appreciate the film soon.:)

Check out the full trailer some photos and our vanilla cupcake with buttercream frosting recipe!

The mouthwatering cupcakes we saw on the trailer (with one seemingly significant in the story as shown above) look like they’re vanilla-flavored with buttercream frosting. Inspired by the film, we’re sharing with you Random Republika’s recipe of what we’ll fondly call Suddenly It’s Magic vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting (no copyright infringement intended!).

  • Gradually add in softened butter and continue mixing on low speed.
  • Add in milk and vanilla and shift mixing to medium speed.
  • Stir in eggs (one at a time) and slowly mix again.
  • Continue stirring for a minute or two or until ingredients have been throroughly mixed.
  • Fill paper liners up to 2/3 or 3/4 full.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes.
BUTTERCREAM FROSTING
Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered or confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 tablespoon evaporated or fresh milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Procedure
  • Combine butter, sugar, and salt and beat until well-blended.
  • When the mixture thickens, add in milk and continue stirring until smooth and creamy
Random Options:

  • Top your frosted cupcakes with colorful candy sprinkles.
  • For a stronger vanilla flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract to the buttercream frosting mixture. We just have to warn you, the vanilla flavor can be a little overpowering for some people.

  • For rainbow-themed cupcakes, place buttercream frosting into separate bowls. In each bowl, put a drop of flavorless food coloring in your preferred color (add a little more to intensify the color) and mix before decorating your cupcakes. Top with white candy sprinkles!
