LOOK: Viu PH launches the Hong Kong version of hit Asian series ‘Business Proposal’
Viu Philippines has introduced its newest captivating addition, aligning with its commitment to delivering top-tier Asian content. This time, viewers can anticipate being enthralled by Hong Kong’s interpretation of the immensely popular webtoon-turned-series, “Business Proposal.”
In the Hong Kong rendition, the spotlight shines on local model and actress Hanna Chan, portraying an office worker who embarks on a blind date donning the disguise of her affluent best friend. Opposite her is Anson Lo, embodying the role of a CEO under the familial pressure to secure a suitable life partner. Wishing to create an unfavorable impression, the young woman faces a challenging predicament upon discovering that her date is not just any CEO but, in fact, her company’s prominent figure, resolute in making her his future spouse. Get ready for an intriguing blend of romance and corporate dynamics!
Edan Lui plays the CEO’s executive assistant who falls in love with the rich best friend and career woman portrayed by Shirley Sham.
Hong Kong’s “Business Proposal” follows the original storyline of the webtoon whose creator, HaeHwa, expressed excitement for this new adaptation.
This Cantonese adaptation is much awaited as its cast members are household names in Hong Kong. In fact, leading men Edan and Anson are part of the popular Hong Kong boy group Mirror. There are also tweaks to the story to appeal to local viewers. For instance, instead of a fried chicken company, the HK version will be situated in a Hong Kong-style restaurant. Certain characters like the grandfather’s driver will have bigger screen exposure.
