Vargas was visibly moved, recalling their time together on the set of “Pieta.” “Super nagulat ako. Tumindig ang balahibo ko when I heard the sudden news over the phone. Di ako makapaniwala,” he expresses, still grappling with the loss.
Amidst this loss, Vargas remains committed to his artistic pursuits, planning special screenings of “Pieta” for fans across the Philippines and internationally, in response to the overwhelming demand. “Hindi natin pwede talikuran ang mga Noranians,” he asserts, acknowledging the fervent support of Nora Aunor’s fanbase.
Looking ahead, Vargas is contemplative about his future projects in film production. While “Pieta” sets a high bar, he’s excited about the potential stories to tell, emphasizing the importance of choosing the right project that can live up to the legacy of his previous work.
