“Magandang hapon!,” rising Japanese rapper Tomoro greeted us last Sunday in an intimate press conference at Hive Hotel in Quezon City. With the help of his friend, actor Polo Ravales, and Polo’s fiancée fitness trainer Paulyn Quiza, entrepreneur-turned-performer Tomoro aims to reach out to the Filipino audience.
Tomoro ‘s journey to flourishing as a businessman and artist is remarkable. The self-made multiple business owner made it to number one of the Billboard charts for the World Digital Song Sales category with his song World Money. The song was a collaboration with hip-hop duo Nice & Smooth.
Since 2021, TOMORO, a Japanese rapper-singer has started to move with full satisfaction. His name is expected to become global in the next few years. KID INK, Snoop Dogg, Sean Kingston, DJ SODA, Alexandra Stan, Shanice, Fatman Scoop, Nice & Smooth are some of the international artists he has recorded with.
The pattern of success can be seen in Tomoro. With grit and determination, Tomoro started his business journey when he was 16 years old. He started a street business in Yokohama and emerged as the leader of Team YTF, which led 120 members. From the age of 23, he moved to Roppongi in Tokyo to further increase his power. He was featured in the Japanese media and appeared on TV programs. It was through his travel and business meetings that he was able to strengthen his connections and entrepreneurial spirit.
One of the connections Tomoro made was with Filipina actress and performer Arci Muñoz. The two became friends after Arci dined at one of his Yakiniku restaurants in Tokyo. In Tomoro’s latest music video shot in Los Angeles, California, Arci plays the role of his leading lady.
