The Metro Manila Film Festival 2016 (MMFF) finally revealed their list of eight films that will be shown during the Christmas holiday period. For so many years, MMFF has been battling against controversies whether mainstream & highly commercial movies (with sometimes not so great overall film quality, but has more mass appeal) should really contend in the festival versus not so mainstream films (with probably not so popular actors headlining the movie too — but times are definitely changing, we see big names transitioning to indie films nowadays).

In 2016, the MMFF committee has taken a bold stand to present eight stellar films — which are probably unpopular choices. And yes, unfortunately, there’s no Vice Ganda-Coco Martin starrer this time around. No Vic Sotto fantaseryes. No Mano Po series too.

Here’s the full list as revealed on MMFF’s official Instagram page: @mmffofficial
