PH’s Figure Skater Michael Martinez To Receive $10k Bonus from MVP

Michael Christian Martinez, our lone Philippine representative in Sochi, Russia, made history as the first Filipino and Southeast Asian to qualify at the Winter Olympics men’s figure skating.
17-year old Martinez finished 19th last night after an impressive performance against seasoned skaters.
He is proof that it doesn’t take a gold medal to bring pride and honor to the country.As reported in Interaksyon, Martinez will receive a $10k bonus from business tycoon Manny V. Pangilinan for his efforts. The bonus was said to be coursed through the MVP Sports Foundation.
