Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio on trusted shoe brand HOKA launching in Manila: “Thank you! You’re finally here!”
At 41, she can pass off as someone in her 20s! That must have a lot to do with Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio’s healthy lifestyle. The former actress-turned-content creator and social media personality has been very open about her fitness journey online, even the struggles she had to go through. One of her striking fitness activities is doing the jump rope!
At the grand opening of HOKA concept store at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, Rica shared more about her fitness enthusiasm and how thrilled she is that her trusted shoe brand is now in the Philippines.
Rica shared, “Ever since 2020, I have been looking for HOKA in the Philippines. Why? I’m not a runner. I know it’s a runner’s shoe but the jump rope community has grown over the pandemic because a lot of people who couldn’t go to the gym started jumping in their houses. And the backstory there is that everytime somebody would ask, ‘What shoe brand can I use for jumping?’ Jumpers would always say HOKA.”
“Because it’s very similar to running. You need something lightweight and at the same time, high-performing. So, ‘yun, naging shoe ko ‘yung HOKA,” Rica added. “How did I get it? Oh, somebody gave me! And then it was only available in some stores. Wala talagang HOKA store. So, thank you, you’re finally here!” She then added how difficult it was to order abroad and that she is even more thrilled now that the brand also has a line for trail hiking, an activity she also loves.
HOKA’s first concept store in the country is located on the 2nd floor of Building B at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay.
The brand has established stores in Europe and US and has been working on expanding its reach in Asia. It is known to be appropriately cushioned, lightweight, breathable, and durable. Models and Hollywood A-listers trust the brand.
