Consider me blessed,” award-winning film and TV actor Elijah Canlas had this to say when he was welcomed into the Cornerstone Entertainment family last Tuesday, February 28. As Elijah is set to venture into a new territory and open his doors to new opportunities, he does not forget to acknowledge and thank his previous talent management.
Elijah said, “To my IdeaFirst family, thank you for helping me build this path of mine for the past couple of years and for making me who i am. Forever grateful.”
He went on to express the thrill of not knowing what the future has in store for him. Elijah added on his Instagram caption, “Excited to keep growing as an artist in my new home. I can’t wait to share this journey with all of my supporters. Much love.”
As a breakout star during the pandemic, Elijah is best known as one of the stars of the hit Boys’ Love series
“Gameboys” (which spawned a movie of the same name). Aside from “Gameboys,” he has also starred in shows such as Perci Intalan’s “Unconditional”and Cignal Entertainment’s “Suntok sa Buwan.”
Elijah is best known for his award-winning performances in Jun Lana’s “Kalel, 15” (which earned him the Best Actor award from the Asian Film Festival Rome, Harlem International Film Festival, FAMAS, and Gawad Urian) and Jason Paul Laxamana’s “He Who is Without Sin” (which earned him the Best Actor nomination from FAMAS and Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino and the Special Jury Prize for Performance in a Lead Role, also from the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino).
Elijah also appeared in Rae Red’s “Babae at Baril” starring Janine Gutierrez, Perci Intalan’s “LiveScream,” and the 2022 Cinemalaya film “Blue Room” where he co-starred with Juan Karlos. Most recently, he is one of the stars of Jun Lana’s “About Us But Not About Us” which premiered (and won Best Film at the Critic’s Pick competition) last November 2022 at the 26th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia. It will be screened as one of the official selections of the first-ever Summer edition of the Metro Manila Film Festival this coming April.
He will be starring in the upcoming Philippine adaptation of South Korean blockbuster movie “Keys to the Heart.” Elijah will be co-starring with Zanjoe Marudo. The film is directed by Kerwin Go and produced by Reality MM Studios.
He will also be playing the role of “Paciano” in the upcoming historical film “GomBurZa” produced by JesCom Philippines.
