Gina Alajar and Ricky Davao form newest loveteam in senior citizen rom-com ‘Monday First Screening’
NET25, as it continues to expand, has embarked on a new venture into film production with the launch of NET25 Films. This significant milestone features esteemed and multi-awarded actors Ricky Davao and Gina Alajar in their latest film, “Monday First Screening.”

Dubbed as a “senior citizen rom-com,” the movie tells the story of two elderly individuals who discover romance through their weekly tradition of watching free movies every Monday. This practice, observed in certain malls in Metro Manila, forms the backdrop of their blossoming relationship.
The audience will be introduced to Lydia, portrayed by Gina Alajar, a recently retired high school principal who finds solace and companionship in a group of seniors like herself by indulging in movies at the mall.
The movie premiere, an exclusive invitational screening, took place on June 12, 2023, at the EVM Convention Center in Central Avenue, Quezon City, starting at 11:00 in the morning. This event not only marks NET25’s inaugural film production but also serves as an opportunity to provide free medical services to senior citizens.
Guests who attended the premiere had access to complimentary medical and eye check-ups, as well as receive free medications, vitamins, reading glasses, hearing aids, and a limited number of wheelchairs. In addition, seniors and their family members were able to benefit from the free services of Philhealth and Pag-IBIG Fund at the venue. A photo booth was also be available to capture the moments of the attendees, including the young-at-heart.
Joining Ricky Davao and Gina Alajar in the cast are respected actors Ruby Ruiz, Soliman Cruz, Che Ramos, Ian Ignacio and David Shouder, along with a promising new love team to watch out for—Allen Abrenica and Reign Parani.
