“I still can’t believe that my billboard for Ia’s Threads is displayed in Times Square in New York!,” Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista said in her caption last Friday, January 8, when she woke up to the news that her collaboration with fashion brand Ia’s Threads was advertised through a digital billboard in New York City. The out-of-home display was placed in one of the world’s busiest pedestrian landmarks and the city’s iconic tourist spots.
Ia’s Threads is a New York-based sustainable fashion brand that launched a handbag collection in 2017.
The product of the tie-up between the brand and Kapuso Queen of Creative Collaborations is a clutch that was described in the website as inspired by Heart’s persona – sophisticated and fashion-forward. The luxury piece was made in the Philippines by local artisans. Priced at $195, the blue-and-black bag was named after the actress’ dog, Panda Ongpauco-Escudero.
In case you missed it, Panda is often seen in Heart’s posts and the charming dog even has its own Instagram account @pandaongpaucoescudero.
“I’m so grateful for such an incredible opportunity to highlight a sustainable brand that shows the talented craftsmanship of Filipino artisans. God is truly good!,” an obviously thrilled Heart continued in her post last Friday. She also shared some photos and videos through her Instagram stories.
Aside from her beautifully curated feed on Instagram and TikTok videos teeming with fashion-related posts, Heart’s love for high fashion was also validated by her inclusion in Harper’s Bazaar’s The Real ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ in 2018, Vogue 100 in 2019, and Forbes Frances’ top 10 luxury influencers in 2020.
