Piolo Pascual laughs at himself after attempting to slow down in showbiz: ‘Kinain ko ‘yung sinabi ko!’
“Kinain ko ‘yung sinabi ko!,” the country’s “Ultimate Heartthrob” Piolo Pascual laughingly responded to TV5 showbiz correspondent MJ Marfori’s reminder about his previous declaration of planning to take things slow in terms of showbiz work. Papa P, as he is fondly called, has been working almost nonstop since that interview for his musical debut Ibarra last June. It was revealed during the media launch earlier today that Piolo’s fully booked until 2024.
“You know, I’m just a sucker for good stories,” Piolo explained. He further elaborated that he just could not pass up good projects like Netflix’s Replacing Chef Chico and the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 entry Mallari. On top of these, there are other movies, a concert tomorrow night (October 20) at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, an upcoming US tour, and a teleserye. “It happened one after the other...Siguro ‘tsaka na lang ako matutulog ‘pag tapos na ‘yung trabaho ko,” Piolo said in jest.

Additionally, in Netflix Philippines’ inaugural Christmas ID, Piolo’s involvement in the upcoming Netflix Original series “Replacing Chef Chico” was revealed. He stars alongside Sam Milby and Alessandra De Rossi in this groundbreaking Filipino-produced series, set to stream on Netflix this November.
On the international film festival stage, Piolo’s presence is strongly felt as he plays a leading role in Brillante Mendoza’s star-studded “Moro,” a tragic drama depicting the conflict between two warring brothers in Mindanao. The film recently premiered at the 28th Busan International Film Festival.
