Ryan Bang's mom on his love life: "Basta approved ni Mommy Vice, approved din daw siya" [Mommy Issues stars' Q&A]

On Mother’s Day, the Q&A with “Mommy Issues” stars Chanel Morales, Ryan Bang, and Sue Ramirez went live on rising video-sharing application, TikTok. This is part of the promotional campaign of Regal Entertainment‘s Mother’s Day offering topbilled by comedienne Pokwang. Mommy Issues also stars Gloria Diaz and Jerome Ponce.

In line with Pokwang’s character in the movie who kept on meddling with her daughter’s (Sue Ramirez’s role) love life, Random Republika asked Chanel, Ryan, and Sue about how involved their moms are when it comes to relationships. The three also shared the most valuable love advice they got from their mothers.

“Very much! Very much involved si Mother pagdating sa love life. Lagi niyang sinasabi sa’kin na unahin ko ‘yung sarili ko when it comes to love. Not just puro utak o puso. Dapat lahat gumagana,” Chanel answered.

“Put yourself first before you learn to love somebody else and don’t trust kaagad. Take time to get to know your suitor or boyfriend first. Ganun siya. Strict siya,” she added.

“‘Yung mommy ko sa Korea, pumapayag naman siya. Basta approved daw si Mommy Vice, approved din daw siya. Ganun naman mommy ko. ‘Tsaka parang wala siyang pakialam kung girlfriend ko African, Russian, or Korean. Basta may lovelife, masaya siya,” Ryan shared.

When asked further if his mom has a significant advice for him on love, Ryan jokingly said, “‘Yung advice niya, basta huwag ko kalimutan mag-deposit.” After everyone laughed, he was quick to clarify that it was not just about his mom’s allowance. He added, “Baka raw maubos ang pera ko sa love life. Huwag daw ubos-pera agad.“

“My mom naman, what I can say, she really trusts me and my decisions all the time. She’s very supportive. Lagi niya kaming kinukumusta. Every once in a while, ‘O, kumusta na kayo ni Javi? Is everything okay? Is there anything you want to open up to me?,’ Sue shared how her mom finds the balance between being lenient and involved in her relationship with fellow Star Magic artist Javi Benitez.

“She’s very open but she’s not one to meddle. Because she trusts me and my decisions and she knows that I’m responsible enough, nirerespeto niya ako. Si Mommy nakaabang lang palagi kung kailangan niya akong saluhin when I fall. Pero so far, thank God, hindi pa naman ako nadadapa, hindi pa naman ako kailangan saluhin and I know, kampante ako when the time comes, mangyari man ‘yun, I will be supported, embraced, and that I am worthy because malakas ang foundation ng family.

“Huwag mong papayagan ang sinuman, hindi lang siguro ito sa love life, na i-disrespect ka. For me, puwede kang rumespeto nang walang pagmamahal. Pero kahit kailan, hindi ka puwedeng magmahal nang walang respeto,” Sue shared that this outlook on love was influenced by her mom’s words of wisdom.
