Vice Ganda on historic partnership between ‘It’s Showtime’ and GMA Network: ‘Hindi mo maiisip na magsasama ang 110 at 220!’
“In fairness, ang bait ng mga taga-GMA!,” Vice Ganda raved as part of his heartfelt speech. “Ang bait-bait niyo ho sa amin. Ang laking tulong at suportang ibinibigay niyo sa amin.”
Vice emphasized, “Hindi naman lingid sa kaalaman ng lahat kung gaano kasadsad ang isinadsad ng Kapamilya, pero nandiyan kayo hindi para tapakan kami at saktan pa sa panahong sadsad na sadsad kami, inialay niyo ang mga kamay niyo sa ‘min para unti-unti kaming makabangon.” He continued, “Hinding-hindi po namin ‘yan makakalimutan. Pati na rin ng lahat ng mga Kapamilya sa buong mundo. Alam po nila kung ano ang pagmamahal at pagtulong na binigay niyo sa amin. Hindi niyo lang kami tinutulungang makatayo, pinagbuksan nyo pa kami ng tahanan para doon muling magpalakas, magpagaling, magpahilom, at makatindig ulit para makapiling kayo. Maraming, maraming salamat po.”
During the significant ceremony marking the new alliance with GMA Network, Vice Ganda was overwhelmed with emotion. The event, hosted in Studio 7 of GMA on a historic Wednesday, saw the entertainment and comedy icon visibly moved, alongside his co-host Anne Curtis, as he absorbed the words of ABS-CBN President and CEO, Carlo Katigbak, who extended his heartfelt appreciation for this groundbreaking partnership.
Vice, in a stirring address, shared his astonishment at witnessing the union of two broadcasting giants for the sake of a television program. She likened ABS-CBN and GMA Network to incompatible electrical voltages, “220 at 110,” traditionally seen as a hazardous mix, yet here they were, coming together in an unprecedented collaboration.
The journey to this moment, Vice Ganda noted, was far from straightforward. The adversity faced by their network, ABS-CBN, acted as a catalyst, paving the way for this unique collaboration with GMA Network. She emphasized the monumental nature of this event, a turning point that symbolizes much more than just a partnership; it’s a moment charged with purpose and potential for transformation.
“Ang transpormasyon na ito, hindi basta nangyari lang, ngunit ngayon, habang umuusbong, ito’y nagtataglay ng malalim at makabuluhang layunin,” Vice articulated, highlighting the significant impact of their challenges and the solidarity and support that emerged in response.
Reflecting on the hardships endured by the Kapamilya network, Vice acknowledged the compassion and support from the Kapuso network, praising them for not exploiting their vulnerabilities but instead offering a helping hand to rise again.
She concluded her heartfelt speech with a message of gratitude and a call to unity, “At ngayon, sa pagpili ninyo sa amin, tara na, magkaisa tayo, upang harapin at lampasan ang mas malalaking pagsubok,” inviting everyone to join forces to overcome greater challenges together.
“It’s Showtime” is slated to make its debut on GMA Network and GTV starting April 6, heralding a new era for both networks and their viewers.
