LOOK: Pio Balbuena and Team Tambay announce their upcoming festival

Pio Balbuena, a vlogger and comedian with 1.3 million followers, together with his wife Aira and other members of Team Tambay, gave their fans very exciting news last July 23, 2023, at a pocket press conference at Fin & Claw Restaurant in Quezon City.
As Pio Balbuena continues to strive in his career as an actor, rapper, director, filmmaker, and vlogger, he has grown his Facebook followers to over 5.3 million and his Youtube channel subscribers to 402k. Aside from his successful achievements, Pio started his business venture two years ago by selling caps with an advocacy to help unemployed ‘Tambays’ earn money through reselling these caps.
Pio grew up in the slums and has personally experienced being a “tambay” but with his hardwork and perseverance in reaching his dreams to provide for his family, he made a way to pursue success.
Before embarking on their current venture, they created a Tambay serye that attracted numerous viewers and followers. This success inspired them to start a business, allowing their fans to earn as well. “Ginawa namin itong brand para makatulong sa mga tambay talaga tapos yung target market naman din namin yung pamilya tsaka yung tatambay talaga na walang ginagawa halos. Syempre gusto namin na magkaroon ng brand na kasali rin sila at matulungan din,” Pio said.
During the event, Pio revealed the creative origins of their caps, drawing inspiration from vintage sports designs but adding a unique Filipino touch with the prominent inclusion of the word ‘Tambay’ as the main design element. Alongside this, they infused the caps with their own original and imaginative designs. Excitingly, Aira confirmed that they have plans to introduce Tambay merchandise tailored for women in the near future.
The press conference concluded on a high note, leaving us thrilled with an exciting announcement. They extended a warm invitation to an upcoming festival, where attendees will have the opportunity to join the creators and distributors of Team Tambay Caps, along with the promise of guest performances. The festival’s details and lineup of performers will be unveiled on September 30 at Quezon City Circle, making it an event not to be missed.
