Showbiz newbie Charles Nathan gets big breaks under Godfather Productions
“Hindi kasi ako basta-basta tumatanggap ng [Facebook] request,” Ardel Presentacion, now known in showbiz as newcomer Charles Nathan, laughingly shared how he almost missed his chance to be discovered by his manager, Joed Serrano of Godfather Productions. The young actor piqued actor-turned-producer Joed’s interest through his viral makeout scene with comedian Chad Kinis in the project “Beki Problems.” Joed saw Charles’ potential and went out of his way to reach him online. The rest, as they say, is history.
Charles, an Informations Technology graduate from ACLC (AMA Computer Learning Center), dove into showbiz head-on and opted to have a screen name for better recall. “Sa Ardel Presentacion, minsan po nabubulol po sila [other people], hindi po nila matandaan,” he shared. With a face that resembles actors JC De Vera, Carlo Aquino, and Wendell Ramos, he is indeed off to making a lasting impression now with that change in name.
For his first movie break, Charles is now part of his management team’s daring film production “Anak ng Macho Dancer.” This project comes after another adventurous stint in Boys’ Love series Unlocked with Markki Stroem and Mike Liwag.
“Kinabahan po ako, first time ko po kasing gagawin ‘yun,” Charles said about doing sexy dance moves as a macho dancer-model role in the movie. He expressed both the thrill and tension of being under the tutelage of respected director Joel Lamangan.
Asked if he’s comfortable being in the line of sexy roles, the showbiz newbie quickly said, “Ngayon iniisip ko, ito muna ang mga roles na nakukuha ko. Ang mga susunod naman po na ibibigay sa akin, mga drama.” True enough, Charles is set to play the role of young Joed Serrano in the filming of the actor-producer’s life story.
A self-confessed fan of John Lloyd Cruz, Charles aims to pattern his career after the dramatic actor. It is his wish to be working with actresses Liza Soberano, Kathryn Bernardo, and his ultimate celebrity crush Sue Ramirez.
As of the moment, Charles is enjoying every bit of his journey to stardom. In fact, even getting mistaken for another actor is something he humbly enjoys. When someone pointed out that he resembles Kapuso actor Alden Richards, Charles shared a cute encounter in a mall.
With his charming looks and unassuming personality, Charles seems to have gotten off on the right foot.
