Titas of Manila are in for a treat as Katherine’s Cafe offers a unique way of enjoying classic merienda item ensaymada. The ensaymada, which has Spanish origins, is a Filipino-style brioche bread typically topped with butter, sugar, and grated cheese.

Katherine’s Cafe, a cozy dining stop perfect for intimate gatherings or friendly meetups, changed things up a bit and came up with a way to tickle our taste buds. The cafe is offering ensaymada with creamy Malagos chocolate sauce locally sourced from Davao farms. The pairing creates a wild burst of flavors in the mouth with the bittersweet-and-salty mix. The bittersweet chocolate sauce, best served when warm, complements the toasty savory cheddar cheese (There’s a quezo de bola option as well!). The softness of the ensaymada is a party in your mouth on its own!

Aside from this novel treat which the cafe calls “Ensaymadness,” Katherine’s Cafe also offers other sumptuous dishes for its guests. The interiors and cafe’s accessories make up the perfect ambiance for a homey feel. It is the perfect venue for comfort and home cooking with a gourmet touch.

Visit Katherine’s Café at Glorietta 3 (near Landmark entrance), Vertis North Quezon City, and Ayala Malls Manila Bay (Parañaque). A new branch is also opening this month at Alabang Town Center.
